1 Forester Farmer’s Market® Whole Frying Chicken 4.25 – 5 lb.
1/2 Cup Chicken Stock
1/2 Cup Poultry Seasoning
Pre-Heat your oven to 350°
Liberally season your whole chicken, cover every surface and also season the cavity of the bird.
Pour chicken stock in to your baking pan/dish.
You can tuck the wings & Truss your bird (if desired)
Place your seasoned chicken (breast side up) in the center of the baking dish, place in the center of the middle rack of your oven.
Bake @ 350° for approximately 1 hour. Check the internal temperature to ensure you reach a minimum of 170° in the thickest part of the breast meat.
If you need to feed more than 6 people, simply cook another whole chicken. Each whole chicken should serve 6. Prep is the same x2, and they can bake together in the oven. Just lower the temp to 325º and add 20-30 more minutes to the time. You will need to check that the internal temperature of each bird at the thickest part of the meat reaches a minimum of 170º.
